Email analytics

This page explains the basic email analytics used by the Nuno Tomás - Newsletter.

What you agree to when subscribing

By subscribing to the newsletter, you agree to receive occasional updates from Nuno Tomás and you agree to the points described on this page.

These emails may include photography articles, print releases, stories, behind-the-scenes content, limited editions, postcards and small updates from the road.

What is collected

When you subscribe, the newsletter system may store your email address, subscription status, subscription date, confirmation date, unsubscribe date, the page where you subscribed and a technical log of the subscription action.

When a newsletter is sent, the system may also store whether the email was sent successfully, whether it was opened, which newsletter was opened, which links were clicked, and the date and time of those opens or clicks.

How opens and link clicks work

Email opens are measured through a small image included in the email. When that image loads, the system records an open for that newsletter.

Some links in newsletters may first pass through the newsletter system. This records the click and then redirects you to the final destination, such as the website, shop, blog or Instagram.

What is not collected or shared

The newsletter does not track your location.

Your IP address is not visible to the administrator. When a technical identifier is needed for security or anti-abuse purposes, the IP address is stored as a hashed value.

The email list is never sold, provided to third parties, or used for any purpose outside this newsletter.

Why this is collected

This information is used to maintain the newsletter system, confirm delivery, understand which newsletters are useful, improve future emails, troubleshoot technical issues and avoid sending content that is not relevant.

Newsletter popup memory

If the newsletter popup is shown on the website, a functional cookie may be used to remember when it has been closed, so it is not shown again too soon.

After a popup subscription is submitted, a functional cookie and local browser storage may be used to remember that action in that browser, so the popup is not repeatedly shown again.

Unsubscribing

You can opt out at any time using the unsubscribe link included in every newsletter.
